Turkey detains "Islamic State"  militants
Some 17 militants of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) were detained in Turkey’s south-western province of Manisa, the Kanal7 TV channel reported August 7.

The detainees are also accused of propaganda of terrorism in the country.

They are all the citizens of Turkey.

Earlier, on July 27, the head of the Turkish-wing of the IS, Halis Bayancuk, known as Abu Hanzalah, was arrested in Turkey.

Bayancuk was actively involved in the recruitment of Turkish citizens for their departure to Syria and Iraq.

On July 25, the Turkish Air Force launched a major military air operation in northern Syria against the IS militants.

Over 1,500 people have been detained in Turkey in the anti-terrorist operations.
